Magic Arts

The art of magic uses techniques of deception and staging. When it comes to magic arts, nothing is as it seems, and our interest is aroused by being taken for fools. This approach seems at first to contradict all the values that architects have learned today and about which a general consensus has prevailed since the beginning of modernism: unadulterated materials, clear language of form, clarity, reduction of means,... bright, open, flexible, neutral... How do secrets, deceptions, emotions, surprises arise in such categories of space?
