Grafenegg Riding School

'The aim of the competition is to develop a preliminary design to convert the historic riding school at Schloss Grafenegg into a contemporary event hall for predominantly acoustic music performances and events for around 500 visitors.
The task also includes the question of how to find an adequate and architecturally outstanding answer that includes a logical functionality that is noticeable to the visitor, taking into account the monument preservation requirements, respect for the historical building stock and the functional and architecturally sophisticated additional buildings, such as the Wolkenturm, Gastroinsel (Wolke 7) and auditorium.’ - Extract from the competition brief
